(August 6, 1943) -- Seaman Second Class Herbert
R. Washburne, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert L. Washburne of 23 Orchard
street, was killed in action aboard the
U.S.S. Juneau, along
with the five Sullivan brothers, during the Guadalcanal invasion on Nov. 13,
