John C. Hehn, Jr., Nutley-born, dies of wounds in Paris hospital

 Pvt. John C. Hehn, Jr., died December 8, 1918, of wounds received in action.

John C Hehn, KIA WWI, born in Nutley NJHehn arrived in France on July 1, 1918, and was transferred to Company D, 128th Infantry and was wounded by shrapnel in the field on August 30. He was taken to a military hospital in Paris where he had three operations, each removing parts of his brain.

Born on Dec. 4, 1893, in Nutley, he is the son of John Christopher and Ella Hehn, of Bloomfield Avenue, Newark, the 1910 U.S. Census lists siblings Peter, Earl and Langdon.

Hehn registered for the draft from Somerville, Mass.

Pvt. Hehn is buried at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, Orange County, N.Y.
